Announcements for the week of Nov. 16-20

1. All Tuesday basketball practices and open gyms have been moved to the North gym.
2.  Freedom Team members travel to Connor Prairie on Tuesday, Nov. 17 and Liberty Team members visit on Thursday, Nov. 19.  Students should PLEASE come dressed appropriately for the weather.
3.  The annual GMS Read and Feed is being held on Wednesday, Nov. 18.  Books by author Shelly Pearsall are on sale in the IMC.
4.  The following teams will have sports pictures taken on Wednesday, Nov. 18 after school in the North gym:
6th, 7th and 8th grade boys basketball, 7th and 8th grade cheerleading.  Mid-state competition cheerleading.  6th grade cheerleaders will have pictures taken on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
5.  Principal's Advisory group will have weekly meetings on Thursdays at 7:15 a.m.  They will meet this Thursday, Nov.19.
6.  Tuesday, Nov. 17 is ARNI'S night at the ARNI's on St. Rd. 135.  Hours are 4-9 pm.
7.  Wednesday, Nov. 18 is Dazzlerette night at Qdoba on US 31.  Hours are 7-10 pm.
8.  There are still openings for members of the 4 Paws Club to attend the weekly Wednesday field trips.  See Ms. Ferguson.  The next club meeting is Dec. 16.

9. The GMS Dazzlerettes will sponsor the annual Daddy-Daughter Dance on Friday, Dec. 4 from 6-9pm.  Tickets are $12 per couple.  Registration forms are available in the principal's office.

School Policy Reminders

     Electronic Devices: Cell phones, CD/MP3 players, etc.
           GMS does not allow the use of these devices during school hours and will not
assume financial responsibility if they are lost or stolen. Phones may not be visible or heard for any reason during school hours. 
1.      1st violation – The device will be confiscated for three days and then may be picked up by a parent.
2.      2nd violation – The device will be confiscated for three days and then may be picked up by a parent. The student will also be assigned to a day of in-school suspension.
3.      3rd violation – The device will be confiscated and retained until the end of the school year.
 
Parents, do not call or text your child on his /her cell phone during school hours. In order to get a message to your child, call the school direct and a message will be promptly sent. Your child shall not call or text a parent in order to be picked up due to illness. The health aide will assess the student and communicate with the parent. 
 
     Dress Code:
Please review the policy pertaining to personal grooming and dress. (pg. 110 Section D)
1.      1st violation – The student will be sent to the office, required to correct the violation and given a warning.
2.      2nd violation – The student will be assigned to a Friday Night School.
3.      3rd violation - The student will be assigned to an out-of-school suspension.
